Maybe it’s an occupational hazard, but as a designer I am always keenly aware of the colors in my surroundings and sunsets are one of my favorite inspirations. I shared this photo taken July 29 along the Milwaukee lakefront with a gifted ceramicist from Boston who immediately picked up on the stunning hues.
We decided the color combination of periwinkle and cantaloupe (Crayola should let a team of artists name a special edition of waxy tools) was a winner, to say the least.
So if you ever wonder where the color scheme for a certain design came from, all you have to do is look around you.
