Tessera Design is proud to have played a very small part in the extraordinary efforts to save the Villard Avenue Library in Milwaukee. Working with Howard Snyder and Sam McGovern-Rowen of the Northwest Side Community Development Corporation, we donated the design time for buttons, postcards petitioning city leaders to support the library and signage (please see Milwaukee Journal Sentinel photo below) for the Villard Avenue Day Festival.
Thanks to the efforts of several companies and organizations, Mayor Tom Barrett is proposing one million dollars to support the planning and development of a new, improved Villard Avenue Library at 3310 W. Villard Ave. The new library would provide a safe haven for area children and is an impressive model for neighborhood revitalization.
Congratulations to all involved on an effort well done.
